Aloha Fellow PacCup Sailors--
Having trouble finding insurance for the race and return? So were we on 'Chance'. Fortunately, we started working with Susan Waters at https://www.marineinsurance.cc 6 months ago.
Our case was difficult because we had a large claim a few months before the 2022 PacCup, after a bizarre series of events that led to a hard grounding. Susan methodically went through a long list of potential underwriters and after several had denied coverage she was able to advocate for us with https://www.yachtinsure.com/. Susan was incredibly diligent and responsive. We are very grateful for her efforts.
Our insurance is by no means cheap, but in the overall financial scheme of doing a race like this it was reasonable, if not trivial.
